Give Like No One is Looking, Especially Your Own Ego
Much of self-help is simply a subtle way to fatten the ego, which then keeps us stuck in cycles of suffering. The door out of the ego traps is just to serve, give through acts of generosity and kindness. Laugh when the ego raises it’s head asking for recognition, then do something for another person without any reward for the ego to celebrate.
Your deep Self, and good heart needs no plaques, no charitable donation receipts to be used for tax purposes, no thank you letters, no gifts back to you are needed by the soul. Sometimes give in secret like St Nicholas did. He always gave in secret to avoid attention or recognition. St. Nicholas is the origin of the advertising myth of Santa Claus who wished to remain anonymous.
Give like no one is looking, especially your own ego. The only witnesses who matter are the Presence of God within you, and your Solar Angel, aka, Guardian Angel. They wish to use your capacity to be generous for the welfare of others as well as God’s Plan for healing brokenness in your fellow man.
