Comforting Words in Troubled Times.
When you are facing hardship, use your breathe to stay connected to life and to hope.
Are you having a bad day?
Is life feeling really tough at this moment?
It will be ok, you are here reading this, seeking spiritual guidance and seeking relief. That is good. Keep doing that.
Maybe you are feeling lonely, emotionally beaten down, discouraged, tired of too many trials, spread thin by another change, or another challenge, but always remember that life is a journey. Whatever you are facing it will pass.
Try this healing and comforting method right now:
1. Take 7 slow, deep breathes, counting to 7 when inhaling, hold the breathe for just a moment.
2. Now release your breathe to the count of 7, very naturally, and with ease.
3. While you inhale, think comforting words while you draw into your lungs, such as thoughts of joy, calmness, kindness towards yourself or a loved one. Remind yourself that whatever is troubling you will pass, and you are ok. If you want to, let the challenging feelings dissolve into a cloud of white light in front of you while exhaling. Imagine those troubles being dissolved into the light.
4. Unite your positive thoughts, with positive feelings and keep breathing. This is essential. Breathing is affirming life. The act of breathing connects you.
5. Stay connected to the present moment, just now, and then just now….
6. Remind yourself that whatever you are facing, it is only temporary.
7. Life has a cyclic quality to it. There are 4 seasons. If today feel like winter rendered a snow storm, reminder yourself that winter passes, with the melting of the snow giving rise to spring.
Difficulties have a way of eventually being seen as blessings as time passes. Your inner nature or true Self is always present. It will outlive whatever you are facing today.
