Upon discovering Transcendental Meditation Christopher Lee May began meditating at the age of 16. Over the next five years he studied with Ram Dass, studied with Zen Masters, learned Hatha Yoga practices, studied for one year with a Tai Chi martial arts master, and read widely all manner of Asian wisdom traditions and oriental philosophies.

Beginning in 1975 Christopher began in-depth studies within the Buddhist tradition upon meeting Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche (born February 1939 – April 4, 1987) who was a renowned Buddhist meditation master, scholar, teacher, poet, artist, and a Trungpa Tulku. Christopher studied with Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche from 1975 to 1978. During this period of time he performed month-long, week long and 3 day retreats under the guidance of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

In 1977, Christopher was fortunate enough to receive his refuge vows from the sixteenth Gyalwa Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpei Dorje (August 14, 1924–November 5, 1981) the head on the Kagyu Tibetan lineages and one of the three most revered lamas of Tibet.

From the period of 1977 to 1992 Christopher continued studies with Reverend Torkom Saraydarian (1917-1997) who gave the universal emphasis of the Ancient Wisdom Tradition. Christopher lived for five years from 1982 to 1987 in Sedona Arizona where he studied extensively during which time he learned to work with higher energies, cultivate deeper meditation, refine his creative visualization, speaking teaching and writing abilities more skillfully.

In May of 1995 Christopher met and began receiving teachings from, and empowerments with the Tibetan Buddhist master H.E. Chagdud Tulku, Tibetan: Rinpoche (1930-2002) who was a renowned teacher of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism. One of the many principal practices he learned Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche was Red Tara, Red Vajrasattva. In addition he took his Mahayana Bodhisattva vows and gained accomplishment in Tantric Vajrayana practices with His Eminence.

Christopher has received extensive teachings, taking initiations, aka, empowerments from his Eminence Garchen Rinpoche in 1997 in Arizona. However, it was not until the Summer of 2002 Christopher began in-depth studies, practicing with and taking deeper, rigorous teaching from His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche, who is a profoundly realized Drikung Kagyu lama (1937- Present). Garchen Rinpoche is known for boundless compassion, vast realization Drogchen as well as for his great kindness. Christopher is taken regular retreats and Drubchen during the summer and winter teachings in which he gain greater realization of the practices of purification, wisdom, kindness and the path of service.

In 2002 Christopher was fortunate enough to meet, and has since studied with the Tibetan Buddhist master, ZaChoeje Rinpoche (1968- Present) who had recently moved to Arizona. ZaChoeje Rinpoche is a close disciple of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. ZaChoeje Rinpoche has transmitted the wisdom of how to live a life of compassion, loving-kindness, joy and freedom in everyday life. ZaChoeje Rinpoche is a highly realized scholar and meditation master.

In February of 2005 Christopher traveled to India to perform a month long Buddhist pilgrimage traveling to all the sacred sites throughout India with the Tibetan Buddhist spiritual master, and Tulku ZaChoeje Rinpoche.

Because of the special, in-depth training and the kindness, compassion and wisdom of his teachers, Christopher has cultivated a unique perspective on bridging the understanding and application of Western and Eastern fields religion, human potential, spirituality, meditation, stress management, guided imagery, use of mantra, visualization, healing strategies and grief work for people from all walks of life.

Christopher worked in the hospice care and elder care field with Hospice of the Valley for 3 years both as volunteer and business owner. He co-owned an adult care home where the staff helped with the activities of daily living for 10 elderly, seniors in the golden age of life.

Christopher holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University Northridge, Masters Degree Studies in Public Administration, invited to teach undergraduate courses at Northern Arizona University and was a credentialed public school teacher. He has been teaching and instructing on subjects as diverse as the classic sciences, the arts and spiritual teachings for several decades.
