Gratitude and Generosity are Inter-Dependent
Gratitude and generosity are inter-dependent. Giving through constant acts of generosity is an integral part of the expression of gratitude made manifest. I find that at times the belief that gratitude just saying, “Thank you” is enough. But actually if we are to truly experience more abundance of whatever it is we want in life there is a need for taking some form of action. Gratitude in words is just the first step.
The essence of gratitude acknowledges the kindness of others, then opens the door of our hearts to extend this same gift back to the one who helped us, as well as others. For example, as a child my mother would make delicious meals for us. In turn we would often help with the meal clean up or washing the dishes. When service is extended to those who serve us, we are made full because the cycle of giving and receiving has been completed.
I love what author Michael Bechwith shares in the audio series Living from the Overflow, an attitude he calls “Practicing the Law of Circulation.” In Living from the Overflow he describes exercises for breaking down your inhibitions to money and clearing the way for prosperity. This work helps me be mindful that if we are to be prosperous in living a life of abundance, being generous with others is an essential step.
I am reminded that in the words of many spiritual teachers they always state that it is in giving that we receive more of all blessings. The bottom line is this, if we want to receive more money, a better job, more friends, more love, we must give more of all of these life enriching blessings to others. That is how we attract more of what we desire. Gratitude and generosity are how positive karma is awakened. Make it a daily practice.
I recommend Living from the Overflow as a primer to help develop these practice more fully in your life.

How an Angel Protected Me from an Arizona Rattle Snake
People often ask how angels help us in times of greatest need? Or, do angels protect us at all, in other words, maybe we just imagine angels by projecting our own needs and wishes onto them? If angels are present helping through daily crisis or challenges, how does the Angelic Kingdom perform their work with human beings?
Some may argue the belief in the Angelic Kingdom is just a happy fantasy we invent. Others like this author have many experiences confirming the angels are here with us. If you believe either scenario, this story may provide some mind boggling insights about how simple and direct angelic presences are in life.
The answer to the question of how angels help us is most often through your own thoughts or by listening to your intuition as a pre-cognitive flash of information. In this case I was given a strong, precautionary warning early morning in the Spring of 2011. As I headed out the front door to check on an event taking place on the south side of my home, a voice came into my thoughts warning to watch for a rattle snake. Was this my imagination? Or, was it just a fear of snakes?
I am not afraid of the rattle snakes. They are common in our high desert part of central Arizona where the Diamond back rattle snake and highly venomous Mojave rattle snake often can be found roaming looking for a meal. The rattle snakes are my friends because they keep down the vermin, like the prolific pack rats, mice, squirrels and other destructive critters that live in my neck of the woods. I value their place in the balance of nature.
I’ll leave the rest of the story for you to watch on this video. Click here to see for yourself how angels are there to protect you and I every day. All you need to do is listen, listen to those inner prompting.
If you want to see how an angelic presence protected me from an Arizona Rattle snake, then Click here and watch my YouTube Video.
May you find comfort as well as affirmation that the angels are protecting you. Develop your intuition, and then listen to angelic guidance.

Post 9/11 Intolerance Still Persists
Why is it that human beings develop a sense of superiority about other religions, different racial groups, political beliefs and other important differences? Sometimes, it appears that intolerance of one another is increasing.
This article is important to read, and share with young people. We need to talk about diversity more, and celebrate differences vs judging one another.
Here is the news story about the Sikhs shot to death in Sacramento recently because some coward thought they might be affiliated with a religion they had disdain for, i.e., Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, some other sect of Christianity we do not practice or other religions. Post-9/11, Sikhs say they are mistaken targets – Yahoo! News
Where does the need to be “right” come from? Is something broken within our sense of ourselves as human beings that cause us to quickly judge others?
Christ and Buddha taught about the power of love, harmlessness, compassion and kindness. They are the pillars of the Temple must work together to build. Why is it so hard to deeply listen to and follow their wisdom and example?
It just takes practice to become more compassionate and kind towards others. These are skills which can be learned with practice, patience and a little will power.
I encourage all of my readers to pick up a copy of Living Wisdom by the Dalai Lama. When you are in the presence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, you are in the presence of compassion itself. But how many of us will have the opportunity to personally experience the man known as The Ocean of Wisdom? Now, Living Wisdom gives you the chance to immerse yourself in the grace of His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama, and to receive the transformative power of his teachings in your own home, The study of wisdom and compassion for someone who is a master of these qualities benefits yourself and everyone whose lives you touch.
May we all cultivate greater tolerance, kindness, compassion and wisdom,

Tribute to First Lady Betty Ford, a Woman of Integrity
I place a high value on honesty and integrity. And, I am fairly certain you do as well. Yet, it seems often miss the deeper meaning of these values.
First Lady Betty Ford was a courageous example of a public figure who helped others confront challenges within their lives and find the path to healing. The Betty Ford clinic she helped found after dealing with her own addiction to alcohol and pain killers, has served over 90,000 since 1982. By speaking out she paved the way for teacher like John Bradshaw who also encouraged millions in America to face their addictions.
There is so much shame, guilt, fear and self-loathing within so many, which leads to addictions, suffering, broken relationships and deep wounds. All forms of suffering are ways to avoid integrity within ourselves because we are actually human souls, not just personalities. Often times there aren’t “safe places” to share and explore this gap between suffering and happiness, thus many people use substances, including food or drugs(alcohol is a drug) to medicate, blocking the discomfort. Even sexual additions, shopping addictions or a host of other behaviors are an effort to create positive endorphins of well-being in the body, but in ways that cause long term harm.
If we study how Betty related to the world through periods of change in our society, we can learn much from her example. She spoke freely about her own process without fear of what others might say. And, she did so with harmlessness, not seeking to attack or belittle anyone.
Integrity does not mean telling the truth. Integrity actually means to become whole again, or to integrate our personality with our higher nature, soul or the Divine. Putting oneself back together from broken pieces of the fragmented public and privates selves is essential for healing. We cannot hide out forever, thinking our suffering or real thoughts are not loveable. We are still good beings even with flaws.
What is integrity? Integrity is the ability to express love, acceptance, kindness, harmlessness and honoring others. It is the process of becoming one with pure goodness through how we treat ourselves and others. Integrity removes judgment from our minds leaving only a wish to serve others.
A society full of judgement and criticism, as ours is, cannot know integrity until there is an increasing level of real loving-kindness and compassion. Only ever expanding love can bring about true spiritual integrity. Where there is self-judgment of oneself and others, there cannot be integrity nor honesty. Where there is love, there too is harmlessness.
Betty Ford gave us a big gift through her enduring example. Can we pass along the same example of honest, integrity and being a safe place to turn everyday to others? Become a safe place for someone you know to turn to. And, if you are unable to offer a safe place yourself for whatever reason, help them find safe places; like life coaching, counseling, 12 step recovery groups or treatment centers to heal.
At FourGates.com, they carry a helpful collection of titles on healing, recovery, healing shame, and more from John Bradshaw, himself a recovery expert.
My gratitude goes out to First Lady Betty Ford, and all those who help create a world of true integrity.
Blessings for a wonderful day,

Ending Procrastination Once and For All
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for a great week, enjoying the warmer weather and finding greater fulfillment in each moment.
Today’s post is about Ending Procrastination Once and For All which is definitely possible. Procrastination is caused by several emotional states:
1) fear of failure,
2) fear of success, which is the mirror image of failure and
3) perfectionism
All of these causes are just habits of mind, thinking and beliefs which can be released easier than you might presently think. Just keep an open mind until you’ve listened to the Tapping World Summit audios found on the attached links.
But, no matter what the cause procrastination can be overcome regardless of the cause using tapping or EFT,aka, emotional freedom technique.
My colleague and founder of the Tapping Solution, Nick Ortner, is holding the complimentary 2011 Tapping World Summit during this introductory period. The audios are complimentary to listen to as a way to sample the work being done with EFT or tapping to release the blocks that procrastination cause. It is easy, fun and anyone can learn this method with a little focus.
I have found tapping helpful in dealing with some procrastination and success issues with completing the writing of my book, Making Friends with Angels. Tapping might be just the thing you’re looking for for relief.
If not, they’re still available until 8pm EST tonight at which time you can join Lindsay Kenny on:
Ending Procrastination Once and For All is ready for you to listen to at the 2011 Tapping World Summit. Go there to listen for yourself. If you are half as impressed as I was, and am now, then it will be helpful for releasing the blocks you need to get rid.
Additionally, Mary Ayers has a 2011 Tapping World Summit presentation on the topic of – From Zero to Hero: Using Tapping to Fly Into Action. This is related to procrastination in that once the energy blocks are released the next step is to move into the area of success you’ve been holding back on Mary will be teaching some good tips on that.
And speaking of procrastination I have a very important question for you today…
Are you going to procrastinate listening to today’s calls or are you going to listen in, do some tapping and get the results you’re looking for in your life? It is an obvious question, but needs to be asked. Commit to taking the valuable opportunity to listen in on this limited time 2011 Tapping World Summit opportunity. Nick is holding the conference for just a week, then closing it for this cycle.
The choice is yours, it always is. My commitment as a spiritual teacher is to bring the best resources to your attention for maximum happiness, success and well-being. Then you can take it from there. Follow your inner voice to listen if there is something good in this for you.
I’ve been listen to Nick and the group of teachers for 18 months. It has helped me and my partner deal with all sorts of issues.
Remember, attracting what you want into your life is about you making a conscious choice to have something different…something better, and to open a door to happier living.
Which means that in this moment you have a choice to listen in to the calls or to procrastinate and put it off for things that you “believe” are more important.
So in this moment, what choice are you making for what you want for your future?
There’s a great opportunity to listen to these amazing calls every day but you have to take the action to show up and listen in to the 2011 Tapping World Summit.
Don’t procrastinate the life that you want any more.
It’s your life and you deserve to get everything you’ve ever wanted.
So find a way to get there tonight and you’ll see that Lindsay and Mary will make moving forward effortless and fun.
And in the meantime if you haven’t listened to yesterday’s calls make sure to do that now by clicking on this 2011 Tapping World Summit link here or any others on this page with the phrase, Tapping World Summit…
Positive change is possible but must be sustainable. EFT is perfect for working through the old beliefs, struggles and habits of mind that keep you stuck. Any real effort to achieve good emotional health and well-being must be sustainable while avoiding extremes of self-denial of those bad habits or indulgence in habit that are not helping you move forward towards greater well-being.
There isn’t any obligation to investigate for yourself. Visiting the 2011 Tapping World Summit might be just the thing you’re looking for for relief.
I hope you will give yourself the gift of exploring the Tapping Solution today. It could help you turn the corner when dealing with procrastination, success and dozens of other issues.that says.
Wishing you health and happiness,

CBS’s Suspension of ‘Two and a Half Men’
While reading a news report about Charlie Sheen’s reaction to the popular show ‘Two and a Half Men’ being suspended by the producer Lorre and CBS’s, it occurred to me that a dose of kindness would be in order. Charlie is reacting in anger and attacking the producer after hearing the news of the show being placed on hold until issues are resolved.
Reacting in anger is a sign of frustration, but focusing on the obligations and responsibilities of the producer is a more proactive approach. Every relationship is better served by kindness and understanding. Kindness is an act of respecting and honoring oneself. Kindness towards those with who you and I, or in this case Charlie Sheen, has relationships with is the higher road to take allowing for resolution to the TV show crisis.
Kindness creates the opportunity for healing, whereas, reacting with blame, name calling or anger give rise to more tensions. Tension is a form of friction which serves neither party. If Charlie keeps creating more tension both parties will move apart rather than cooperate for mutual benefit.
Anger is also a destructive defense mechanism which only builds a greater wall between the two parties, Charlie Sheen and Two and a Half Men show producer Lorre.
Harming oneself is bad enough, but harming another person creates a great deal more negative karma. The greatest benefit comes from cooperation rather than antagonism. There are more good possible outcomes when coming together to work through a challenge.
Attacking others, especially those who have given us opportunities to make living, undermines both the attacker and the person being attacked. The only way forward for a healing to take place is through acknowledging one’s own errors and making efforts to heal them. Without kindness and compassion relationships will be marred by the scars of hurt and anger.
I always recommend to those I teach about healing anger, injury, blaming study a series called Loving Kindness Meditations short course by Sharon Salzberg.
Anger is caused by pain or hurt. But if you or I react in anger with more injury to the other person, then more anger results. Compassion is the antidote to anger and injury. Compassion focuses on the other person’s needs. In this case that would be the fans, CBS network executives and the producer. Does Two and Half Men producer Lorre have a right and obligation to protect the show, the network from threats to the show? Most would say, yes he does. He is the boss. What employer would tolerate illegal conduct from an employee, even a highly paid contract employee?
In the words of Sharon Salzberg, “Loving kindness meditations are not a technique for repressing your awareness of life’s pain. Rather, it is a way to break down the artificial mental barriers that separate you from others.”
The benefit of watching another person, whether Charlie Sheen, or any public figure struggle with tough emotions, is that you and I can learn how to not face a similar situation. We can learn from each other even when there are bloopers being expressed. Two and a Half Men is a very popular show with a huge following and provides CBS with strong ratings. It would benefit all parties if Charlie would draw down the anger, focus on the need of the show, and his loyal fan following. This takes some restraint but will give him the opportunity to practice compassion, kindness and understanding.
I recommend this wonderfully easy to use reflective Loving Kindness Meditation practice in order to reduce emotional friction while increasing skills to cope with hurts, disappointments and daily challenges. The need for more kindness towards Two and a Half Men producer Lorre is certainly called for. After all, he is the boss, and what he is doing is reasonable given the recent crisis.
If you, or someone you know is struggling with anger, hurt feelings or would benefit from developing empathy and compassion, then click on the links called Loving Kindness Meditations to get a copy for developing this life saving skill. This series is easy to use.
Wishing you loving kindness and healing,
Christopher Lee May
